Mary Anne Green
1929 – 2019
On December 1st, Mom passed away peacefully with one of her daughters by her side. She had celebrated her 90th birthday on October 2nd.
Mom was born in Nelson, BC and moved at a very young age to Kamsack, SK. Her parents were Helen and Peter Kazakoff. She was predeceased by sisters Annette and Pauline. Left to mourn are sisters Sandra, Verna, and Dianna.
During her marriage to Air Force Sergeant George Green, she traveled Europe, living in France and different areas of Canada before settling in Winnipeg.
Mom raised five daughters; Georgina, Helen, Sally (Jamie), Mary (Herve) and Tanya. She had five granddaughters; Mandy (Karl), Melissa, Sara (Jayson), Allison and Melody. She was also blessed with seven great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.
Mom led a creative life as a writer, gardener, music lover and thespian. She was an activist for the environment, education and animals.
The family would like to thank the staff at Golden Links Lodge, where she resided for the last 16 months of life. In lieu of flowers, feel free to make a donation to your charity of choice.
“We are all born, we all die, and the measure of our lives is what we do with the time in between.”
(A favourite quote of Mom’s written for Jack Layton.)
Nos plus sincères sympathies à la famille et aux amis de Mary Anne Green 1929 2019..
