Lorenzo’s Obituary
It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Lorenzo Principato on December 3, 2019 aged 85 years, he went peacefully surrounded by his loving family. Beloved husband of 56 years to Lilla (Bonomo), loving father to Charlie (Sandra) Principato, Zina (Andy) Lombardi and Alfonso (Michelle) Principato. Treasured Nonno to Adriana (Matt), Elaina (Adam), Marissa, Vincent, Julian, Stefan and Mia who all adored his sense of humour and fun loving ways, leaving us with countless memories we will all hold dear. Dear brother and brother in law to the late Anna (late Lorenzo) Baio, the late Filippo (Anna) Principato, Alfonsa (Giovanni) Guadagnino, the late Giusepina (late Nicola) Alberga, the late Giovannino Bonomo, Anna (late Antonio) Galvano, the late Francesca (Pietro) Tuttolomondo, Charlie (Mary) Buonomo, Giuseppe (Ninetta) Buonomo. Much loved zio to many nieces and nephews in Canada and overseas. Lorenzo immigrated to Canada from Montaperto, Sicilia with his wife in 1964. He worked as a labourer with LIUNA 837 until his retirement. Lorenzo was an active parishioner at All Souls Church, he loved to be out in the community, playing bocce and spending time with family and friends recounting countless stories and jokes to make those around him laugh. He will be remembered always and loved forever. The family wishes to thank the caregivers and staff at Willowgrove and St. Joseph’s Hospital for taking such good care of him over the past months. Visitation at Friscolanti Funeral Chapel, 43 Barton St. E. Hamilton on Friday December 6, 2019 from 2:00-4:00 pm and 7:00-9:00 pm, with Vigil prayer offered at 8:00 pm. Funeral Mass will be held at All Souls Church, 19 Barton St. W. Hamilton on Saturday December 7, 2019 at 10:00 am. Interment to follow at Resurrection Catholic Cemeteries, 254 Garner Rd. W. Ancaster. For those who wish, donations to St. Joseph’s Hospital (Hamilton Health Sciences) would be appreciated.
