Kenneth’s Obituary
ETTINGER, Kenneth Keith ~ Age 68, of Aylesford, Kings Co., passed away peacefully on Wednesday, December 25, 2019, in Valley Regional Hospital, Kentville, surrounded by his family. Born in Windsor, Hants Co., he was the son of the late I. Keith and N. Jean (Caldwell) Ettinger. Ken attended Middleton Vocational School where he studied electronics. He worked during summer vacations at Berwick Bakery and Larsen Packers. Ken joined the Canadian Armed Forces in 1973, and spent 25 years with the RCEME Corp, serving as a peace keeper and made many lifelong friends especially Wayne and Phyllis Feltmate. His passion was cabinet making and he made quite a few pieces for friends and family as well as cupboards for several people in the area as well as Wheatons in Sackville. Ken is survived by the love of his life and soulmate, the former Jessie C. Webb; his three cats, Suka, Polar and Kaya; sisters, Cheryl (Chris Postnikoff) Ettinger Wilmot; Judy (Allan Wilson) Ettinger, Ottawa Ont.; brother, Brian (Becky) Ettinger Berwick; sisters-in-law, Janice (George) McNeil Berwick; Dorothy (Murray) Legge Bakers Settlement; brother-in-law, Wally Webb Berwick; special goddaughter, Hope Mailman Berwick; several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins. There will be no visitation at the funeral home. Memorial service will take place 3 p.m., Friday, January 3, in Aylesford United Church, 2414 Hwy No.1, Aylesford. Rev. John Moses officiating, with a reception to follow in the church hall. Interment will take in the Aylesford Union Cemetery, at a later date. Family flowers only, donations in his memory may be made to Aylesford United Church or to Fallen Angels Rescue & Sanctuary Society. The family would like to thank our niece, Alice (Greg Foster) McNeil for all the help you both have given us over the past years and during this time and special friends Julie (Mike Phillips) Manning, Grafton for always being there for us. We would also like to thank the Paramedics, Dr. Adam Clark, Dr. Woo and staff of ICU Valley Regional who worked so hard to give us one more day with Ken.
