Doris Mae Beard
Peacefully at the Glen Stor Dun Lodge, Cornwall on Wednesday, December 25, 2019. Doris Mae Beard (née Fletcher); age 99 years. Loving mother of David Beard and Brenda Beard-Sangster (Stephen). Cherished grandmother of Dwayne and Duncan Beard and Meghan, Thomas and Jordan Sangster. She will be sadly missed by her nephews Lenard Pederson (Judy), Edward Pederson (Tony), Joseph Pederson and Tony De Melo. Predeceased by her parents Duncan and Ada Mae Fletcher, by her siblings William, Ada Marie and Donald Fletcher and by her nephew Richard Pederson. Doris was a World War II Veteran in the Canadian Women’s Army Corps. Friends and relatives may call at the Munro & Morris Funeral Homes Ltd., 46 Oak St. Lancaster (613-347-3629) on Thursday, January 2, 2019 from 10 am – 11 am, followed by a Memorial Service in the Chapel of the Funeral Home at 11 am. As expressions of sympathy Memorial Donations to the First Nations Child and Family Caring Society or to the Ontario Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals would be appreciated by the family. As a Memorial to Doris a tree will be planted in a Memory Woods. A tree grows-memories live.
