Doris Eshpeter of Camrose, formerly of Rosalind, passed away on Sunday, December 29 at the age of 96 years.
Left to cherish her memory are her children Jim and Cheryl (Mel) Mills; sister Fern (John) Shomachuk; sister-in-law Dot Bussey; nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
She was predeceased by her husband George; her parents Helen and Richard Benz; and her siblings Harold, Marjorie, Viola, Ray, Stan, and Leona.
Doris loved her family, knew the joy of having and being a good friend, and worked hard to be a valuable member of her church and community.
The family wishes to express its sincere thanks to the staff of Portsmouth (Seasons) for their dedicated care; Karen Skretting (Plan It Consulting) for her devoted companionship; Carolyn and the late Roy Eshpeter for their visits and support throughout the years; and Jerry Leibel for his spiritual comfort.
Funeral Mass will be held at 1:00 p.m., Friday, January 3, 2020 at St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church in Camrose, AB with Father Joby Augustin officiating. Cremation has taken place and inurnment will take place at Camrose Valleyview Cemetery.
Doris and George believed in the importance of supporting their local hospital. Memorial donations to the St. Mary’s Hospital Foundation will be gratefully accepted, or a charity of one’s choice.
