O’Brien, Bernie A: (Long time Member of St. James United Church and Member of the Masonic Lodge, Avid Hunter and Outdoorsman): Peacefully at Peterborough Regional Health Centre with family by his side on Sunday December 1, 2019 in his 91st year. Bernie, beloved husband of Doris (nee Fowler/Huggins), and the late Muriel (nee Silas). Loving and devoted father of Karen O’Brien, Gwen Cooney (Garnet), Bernie (Marie), the late Keith (Natalie), and step-father of Jeff Huggins (Frances). Predeceased by step-sons David and Don Huggins, and step-daughter Reatta Fallis. Cherished Grandpa of Jennifer, Kimberly, Johnnie, Amanda, Kristen, Matthew, Katrina, Stephanie, Jonathan, Hailey, Jessica, Brittany, Adrian, Ashton, Nathan, Kyle, Brittany, and Brody, and several Great-Grandchildren. Loving brother of William, and Karl O’Brien (Diane). Predeceased by sisters Helen Mitchler (Guy), Marjorie Donald (Andrew), Frances Wilkinson (Bill), Ethel Peacock (George) and step-sister Margaret Mace (Jarvis). Remembered lovingly by many nieces and nephews. Friends will be received at the HIGHLAND PARK FUNERAL CENTRE, 2510 Bensfort Road on Wednesday, December 4th from 7:00 to 9:00 pm and on Thursday from 12:00 pm to 1:00 pm followed by a Funeral Service in the Highland Chapel at 1:00 pm. Reverend Julie Van Haaften officiating. Interment Highland Park Cemetery followed by a reception in the Highland Reception Centre. In memory of Bernie, donations to the Heart and Stroke Foundation, the Canadian Diabetes Association, or the PRHC Intensive Care Unit would be appreciated by the family.
