Obituary of Barbara Smith
The family of Barbara Jean Smith sadly announces her passing, at the Sault Area Hospital on Tuesday, December 24th, 2019 at the age 84.
Barbara leaves behind her loving husband Maxwell of 41 years. Cherished mother of Malea, Harry and Patrick Leahy. She will be remembered by Maxwell’s children Scott and Shelley Smith. She will be dearly missed by her many grandchildren and great grandchildren. Barbara was the youngest daughter of the late William and late Mary Plewman. Sister of the late Anne Robertson (late Sandy), and Kay Dool (late Clayton). Sister-in-law to Larry Smith.
Barbara suffered illness for many yeas but always kept her sense of humor. She could make a joke out of any situation; she will be greatly missed by everyone she knew.
A private graveside service will be held. Arrangements entrusted to Northwood Funeral Home Cremation and Reception Centre (942 Great Northern Road, 705-945-7758). Memorial donations may be made to the charity of choice.
The family would like to thank Dr. Edwards and the staff at the Sault Area Hospital for their genuine kindness and compassion in Barbara’s final days.
