AMILE LASSILLE LIZON
January 11, 1941 – December 11, 2019
With heavy hearts, we announce the sudden passing of our father, grandfather, brother, uncle and friend, Amile Lizon. He was predeceased by his loving wife, Lorraine earlier this year, and nephew Barry.
Left to cherish Amile’s memories, are sons Kurt and Rodger, daughter-in-law, Karen (Chris), granddaughter, Kaila, sister, Anita, brother, Marvin, sister-in-law, Verna, nieces Beverley and Lori, nephew Chris, and numerous friends.
Amile was born in 1941, in Birmingham, Saskatchewan. In 1966, he married his one true love, Lorraine, in Brandon, Manitoba. Together Amile and Lorraine built a loving home and family in Winnipeg, Manitoba. A home where everyone was always welcome and love was always felt.
Throughout his life, Amile enjoyed working in construction, mainly with Cambrian Construction company and BACN. He enjoyed construction so much, that well into his retirement years, he still loved to build and fix things. You could call him at any time, and he’d show up with tools and willing hands. This man could do anything. He even sewed.
In his earlier years, Amile and Lorraine would bowl up a storm at Polo Park. Thursday bowling was reserved for Ernie and the boys at Billy Mosienko. In his spare time, he enjoyed crosswords and hanging out with his faithful companion, Casper. Spending time with his granddaughter Kaila, was always a highlight in his day. Throughout Kaila’s life, both Lorraine and Amile were constantly there for her, always showering her with love. Amile also loved to play cards with his family and many friends. Later in the years, he looked forward to crib nights and socializing at the legion on Tuesday and Thursday nights. He was constantly surrounding himself by many caring friends.
Amile was a strong, warm soul. A gentle giant. The twinkle in his eye, his mischievous grin, sense of humour and laughs will be missed by all that knew him. May you both rest well, together again, until we meet again.
A celebration of Amile’s life will be held on his birthday, Saturday, January 11, 2020 at 1:00 p.m. at the Royal Canadian Legion Branch 215, 215 Maxwell King Drive, East St. Paul, MB.
