Memories, the precious jewels we hold in our hearts forever.
We are deeply saddened yet lovingly thankful to announce that Orville Robert Werner peacefully slipped away from us November 27, 2019. He had such a strong will and fought so hard to stay with us as long as he could, but is now resting peacefully.
His loving wife of 67 years, Lorraine, was at his side every step of his journey.
Left to treasure those memories are Dale (Florence) and Carol (Delmar): Our Father was a man of few words, but those words were chosen to share his wisdom and love, with a sparkle of humor. Jarrod (Heather), Kevan (Lindsay), and Candice (Jeff): Our Grampa was a wise and patient man who gently taught us so many life skills. He was always there to share special times with us. Ariya and Skyler: Our Great Grampa always had a smile for us, and we looked forward to the hugs we shared. His sister Irene (Walter) and brother Bob, as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Thanks to Elmer and Debb Parsons who always took time to enjoy “Uncle” and shared many visits, games and laughs with him. He so looked forward to those times. So many friends who had joined him in his travels, camping and fishing trips, card and marble games, pool challenges, and curling games. There are no goodbyes, you will always be in our hearts.
A Memorial Service celebrating Orville’s life will be held at St Paul’s Evangelical Lutheran Church, 5104 Ellerslie Road SW, Edmonton, on Friday, December 6, 2019 at 2:00 pm.
Our utmost gratitude is extended to Orville’s care givers and the staff at 8Y in the Edmonton General Continuing Care Centre.
Donations may be made to the Edmonton General Continuing Care Centre 8Y Unit or to the Kidney Foundation.
