Tyson’s Obituary
Our hearts are broken in the loss of Tyson. Tyson Bilawchuk, aged 37 years, of Moose Jaw, Sask. passed away on November 3, 2019. Tyson was born in Moose Jaw on Dec. 27, 1981 to Dennis and Heather Bilawchuk. Tyson’s early years were spent in a number of different communities including Laird, Unity, Meadow Lake, Saskatoon, Hafford and Yorkton. Tyson and his family returned to live in Moose Jaw when he was 12 years old and he completed his elementary years at Sunningdale School and his high school education at Peacock Collegiate. It was during Tyson’s time at Peacock Collegiate that he met the love of his life, Jillian Bookout. They dated throughout high school and when Jillian graduated they moved to Edmonton, Alta. where Jillian completed her university education. While in Edmonton, Tyson worked at several jobs and eventually became employed with CPR in their Conductor program. Tyson and Jillian moved back to Moose Jaw in 2006. Tyson continued to work with CPR, eventually working himself up to the Locomotive Engineer position. Tyson and Jillian were married in Moose Jaw on August 12, 2006. and had two children, a daughter, Gracelynn Alex, born March 31, 2010 and a son, Jett Jordan, born June 17, 2015. Tyson was known for being very outgoing and fun to be with and as a result he had many friends. He loved spending time at the family cabins at Buffalo Pound lake, which he always referred to as his «happy place» and used the time at the lake as a way to spend time with his family and friends. Tyson was known for having the biggest bonfires at the lake and there were always family and friends around Tyson’s fires. Tyson’s closest friend was his younger brother, Lyndon, and they spent many days on the lake, boating, wakeboarding, surfing and ice fishing. One of Tyson’s proudest moments was when they taught Gracelynn to surf and she was able to get up on the board and surf on her own this past summer. He also loved to go and watch Gracelynn’s dance recitals. Tyson was an excellent cook and loved his BBQ and pellet grill smoker. At family gatherings it was pretty much a given that Tyson would do the cooking as he had a way of making everything taste delicious. When Tyson was young he played minor hockey and was an accomplished goalie so one of his dreams was to see his son, Jett, play hockey. Before his passing, Tyson was delighted in getting Jett enrolled into hockey, picking out his equipment and watching several of Jett’s practices. Tyson is survived by his wife, Jillian; daughter, Gracelynn; son, Jett; father, Dennis; mother, Heather and brother, Lyndon. He also leaves to mourn his father-in-law, Louis Bookout; mother-in-law, Karen Bookout, aunts and uncles, cousins, and many, many friends and co-workers. A Celebration of Tyson’s Life will take place Saturday November 16, 2019 at the Heritage Hotel Banquet Room, 1590 Main St N, Moose Jaw from 1:30-4:30pm. A short service at 2:00pm officiated by Della Ferguson. In living memory of Tyson, a memorial tree planting will be made by Jones-Parkview Funeral Services.
