Obituary of Rose Ruller
It is with heavy hearts that the family of Rose Ruller announces her passing on November 1, 2019 at the age of 90 years. She was predeceased by her husband Bob; son Edward; siblings Jimmy, John, Peggy, Mary, Nellie and Sheila. Rose is survived by her daughter Lynn (Ben); daughter-in-law Sheree; grandchildren Ashley (Jesse), Becky (Jonny), Amanda, John (Destiny), and Connor; and great-grandchildren Nathan and Alex. Rose embodied servant leadership. Beginning when her children were young, Rose became involved with Scouts and Girl Guides, remaining an active member of the Girl Guides of Canada for close to 60 years. She was a fixture at St Thomas School long after her children had moved on, chaperoning camping trips and teaching babysitting courses until the school closed. Little Flower Parish was her second home, as she was heavily involved with the CWL, lay ministry, choirs, reading at mass and organizing the lectors. She could often be found helping in the kitchen for pancake breakfasts, Fowl Suppers, and funerals. When her health began to fail, she assumed similar liturgical responsibilities at Queen Victoria Estates. Many groups benefitted from her generous gift of time, from the St George’s Society to the Campion College Ladies Auxiliary, and she in turn was grateful for how her life was enriched by the relationships she built. The family wishes to thank those who cared for Rose in her last weeks, namely the staff of 6F at Regina General Hospital and Dr Roth of the Palliative Care Department, for their excellent care. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m on Wednesday, November 6, 2019 at Little Flower Parish, 420 College Avenue, Regina, SK. In lieu of flowers, donations in Rose’s memory may be made to the Girl Guide Trefoil Guild, 3287 E. Thames Cr., Regina, SK, S4V 2Y9
