88 years, passed away peacefully on November 28, 2019 at Franklin Gardens. Beloved husband of the late Dorothy Wald (nee Hopper). Pre-deceased by brothers Johann Wald and Peter Wald (Irene). Loving uncle of Irene Jabbour (late Michel), Renate Wald (Mike Stewart), Valerie Wald. Dear step-father of Diane Peters (Isaac), Paul Hopper (Kathy), Keith Hopper (Patty). Lovingly remembered as «Uncle Matt» to many grandchildren, great nieces and great nephews. Matt and Dorothy loved to travel. He loved to record music and watch movies. Matt retired from H.J. Heinz after 35 years of dedication. The family wishes to thank the staff of Franklin Gardens and Chartwell Leamington for their care and compassion. Visitation at St. Michael’s Church, 29 Elliott Street, Leamington on Monday, December 2, 2019 from 9:30 a.m. until the Mass of the Resurrection at 10:30 a.m. Interment at Lakeview Cemetery. If desired, memorial donations made by cheque to The Bridge Leamington would be appreciated.
