Helen passed away at the Perth Community Care Centre on Saturday, November 23rd, 2019. She was predeceased by her parents Harold and Marjorie (McInnes) Burns and by her siblings Margaret (late Raymond) Wark, and Ralph (late Lynn Dobbie) Burns. Helen was the loved wife of Walter Bentley, cherished mother of Steven (Stephanie) Bentley and adored grandmother of Andrew Bentley. She was also the extended grandmother of Samantha Luk, Daniel Luk, Scott Luk, Kaitlyn Luk, Brian Lieuw-Kie Song and Timothy Lieuw-Kie Song. Helen will be sadly missed by her brother Jack (Lesley Adams) Burns, all her family and friends. Helen graduated from the Ottawa Civic Hospital as a registered nurse in 1962. She was dedicated to her nursing career working in various senior’s homes and the Perth hospital.
Friends may pay their respects at the Blair & Son Funeral Home, 15 Gore St. West, Perth on Thursday November 28th, 2019 from 2:00 to 5:00 P.M. Funeral service will be held in the Chapel on Friday at 10:30 A.M. followed by a reception in the Blair and Son Family Centre. Interment Pine Grove Cemetery, Lanark will be held after reception. In remembrance of Helen, contributions to the Great War Memorial Hospital Foundation, Perth or the First Baptist Church, Lanark would be appreciated.
