Laura Melvina McKay, wife of the late David McKay of Route 425 Strathadam NB, passed away Monday November 11, 2019 at Miramichi Regional Hospital, at the age of 85.
Born in White Rapids NB, she was the daughter of the late William and Bertha (Johnson) Curtis. She was a homemaker and a member of the United Church.
She is survived by three daughters, Hazel MacTavish of Strathadam, Margaret Jardine (Guy) of Williamstown and Jessie Gillespie (Kevin) of Strathadam, three sons, David (Corinne) of Bellefond, Gordon McKay (Dee Gillespie) of Strathadam and Willis McKay of Strathadam, two sisters, Dora Jardine of Barnettville and Ethel Tucker of Gray Rapids, 12 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren.
Besides her parents and her husband David, she was predeceased by two sisters, Gladys Stewart and Jessie Jardine, two brothers, Gordon and Joseph Curtis.
Laura Melvina McKay is resting at Davidson’s Funeral Home, 597 Old King George Hwy, with visitation on Friday from 12 noon to 2 p.m. The Funeral Service will follow at 2:30 p.m. at Davidson’s Funeral Home Chapel, with Reverend Geza Szemok officiating. Burial will follow in St. Philip’s United Cemetery, Whitney.
