Obituary of Kenneth George Blake
Kenneth George Blake passed peacefully away on November 20, 2019, at the Central Newfoundland Regional Health Center, Grand Falls-Windsor. He was 85 years of age.
Kenneth worked with Abitibi for over 40 years. He worked as a logger, camp cookie and security. He loved being in the woods and to see a large wood pile. He enjoyed teaching his boys what he knew about the wood and then to cut wood. Kenneth was also well known for his vegetable garden. He would come from working in the woods and go right to the garden, when he finished planting he would say “now Lord, I did my part, you do yours”. He dearly loved his wife of 54 years. They were married on April 30, 1965. Ken truly loved his family, especially his grand kids and great-grandkids. No matter how sick he was, his face would light up when they came to visit.
He was predeceased by his parents John and Helda Blake; his first wife Marjorie; brothers Wilson, Pierce, Stanley, Morris; sister Judy. He leaves to mourn his wife Gloria; sons George (Brenda), Kenneth (Joanne), Darrell (Jackie), Darren (Susie), Reston (Deborah); daughter Connie; grandkids Greg, Travis, Jamie, Carceia, Justine, Megan, Tyson, Chelsea, Dylan, Jordan, Felicity, Hunter; 16 great-grandchildren; brothers Elias (Jane), Edgar, Bond (Darlene), Benson, Roland (Madeline), Ross (Marjorie); sisters Betty (Randolph), Dinah (Roy) and a large circle of other relatives and friends.
