June Leona Goucher
1932-2019
June Leona Goucher – age 87, of New Minas, passed away on
Wednesday, October 16, 2019 in the Valley Regional Hospital,
Kentville. Born in Cambridge, she was a daughter of the late Cecil and
Helen (Reese) Reeves. In her early years, June worked at Scotian Gold
picking apples. She later worked at Webster Farms for 30 years. In
addition to being a homemaker, she was an avid seamstress who loved
company and a good cup of tea. She welcomed everyone into her home.
June enjoyed going to flea markets, gardening, family vacations,
camping at Sunken Lake and Lake George. She was a member of Christ
Anglican Church, Berwick. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother,
great-grandmother and great great-grandmother. She is survived by
daughter, Maria (Tony) Van Wilgenburg, Cambridge; son, Freeman
«Ronnie», New Minas; brother, Rupert (Flora) Reeves,
Cambridge; grandchildren, Mike Martin, Shelley Foster and their
mother, Wanda Corkum, Nancy Everson, Jolene Kerr; great-grandchildren,
Samantha Melanson, Kayla Whiston, Alicia Melanson, Cole Everson,
Madison Foster, Hailey Foster, Whitney Kerr, Ryland Kerr, Nicolas
Martin; great great-grandchildren, Jayden, Liam, Khloee, Connor,
Hailee; nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband,
Freeman; son, Gary; two grandsons; great-granddaughter, Sophie Martin;
sisters, Louise Sawler, Anne Leslie; brothers, David and Kenneth
Reeves. Cremation has taken place and there will be no visitation, as
requested. The funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m.
Tuesday, October 22, 2019 in the Christ Anglican Church, Berwick,
Reverend Mel Malton officiating. Burial will take place in the
Cambridge Cemetery. Donations in memory may be made to the Christ
Anglican Church, Berwick or a charity of your choice. Funeral
arrangements have been entrusted to the White Family Funeral Home and
Cremation Services, Kentville.
