Obituary of Israel Hughes
It is with great sadness that the family of the late Israel (Flick) Hughes announce his passing on November 16, 2019 at the Labrador Long Term Care Centre, Goose Bay, NL at the age of 79 years. He will be sadly missed by his wife Frances; children: Amanda (Wayne) Winsor, Gail (Keith) Leonard, daughter-in-law Pansy Roberts; Grandchildren: Samantha (Keith) Boyd, Lorna (Ryan) Patey, Olivia, Frankie, Ian, Jack; Great-grandchildren: Clay, Kai, and Rachel; Brothers: Bill, Nat (Patsy), Wince (Mona), Sisters: Amy (Stan) Coates, Elva Caddy, Beulah (Dave) Wells, Sheila (Frank) Whalen, sisters-in-law: Vera and Phoebe, as well as a large circle of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. He was predeceased by his parents: John and Bridget Hughes; Loren Roberts; Brothers: Roland, Whyman, Claude, and Bax; Sisters: baby Moriah and baby Stella; Sisters-in-law: Rosie and Marg, Brother-in-law: Orval Caddy. Visitation Monday, November 18, 2019 from 2 – 4 and 7 – 9 P.M. at Fillatre’s Funeral Home. Funeral service Tuesday, November 19, 2019 at 2 P.M. from St. Andrew’s Anglican Church, Happy Valley Goose Bay, NL, with Reverend Nellie Thomas officiating. Interment to follow at the Anglican Cemetery. As expressions of sympathy flowers will be accepted and any donations received will be passed on to both St. Andrew’s Anglican Church and the LTC Helping Hands Committee. Special thanks to staff at the Long Term Care facility and Reverend Nellie Thomas.
