HINSE, Guy
It is with sadness that we announce the passing of Guy on November 14, 2019 at the age of 86. Loving husband to Colombe Hinse (née Moreau), and proud father to Pierre (Manon Lemonde), Jean (Robert Pilon) and Julie (Don Dudegeon). Guy will be further missed by his granddaughter Emilie Lemonde Hinse, as well as many others.
Guy was born in the eastern townships of Québec and lost his father at an early age. He attended engineering school at the University of Québec at the young age of 17 years old where he embarked upon his life-long passion, and what would soon become an intimate knowledge of geology; specifically, mining and exploration. He spent the bulk of his career in Northern Québec and Northern Ontario along the Cadillac Larder Lake Fault Mineral System.
Guy was a brilliant man and an eternal student; an active investor in what the education system, coupled with life experience, had to offer. He loved to read, loved to learn, and most importantly, loved his family. When he couldn’t be found at work or with his family, Guy could be contently found in his garden where he would harvest hybrids and strawberries from sun up to sun down.
In keeping with Guy’s wishes, cremation has taken place and a Funeral Mass will be celebrated in his memory at a later date.
