Our beloved Mom, Grammy and G.G. took her final bow and hung up her dancing shoes for good on Wednesday, October 30, 2019 losing a swift and nasty battle with cancer. She had a passion for animals, dance and people her entire life. Dance led her to teaching, recitals and performances right up into her 88th year. It truly was her “happy place”. We are deeply grateful for the friendship and enrichment her dancing ladies brought into her life over the years. She was a proud graduate of the nursing program at SickKids Hospital in Toronto in 1953 and in some way, has cared for others all through her life. She took great joy in small children and certainly her greatest pride was in her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Anyone walking in the door was treated to the ever-evolving tour of many photos chronicling the adventures of all the kids and their progeny. She never, ever appeared at a family gathering without bags of thoughtful surprises and books for the little ones. Fay lost her life partner Hugh a year ago, but before that they spent several gypsying years RVing over many parts of North America. As that chapter came to a close, they settled into the Wasaga Beach community where they made many, many friends and became actively involved in a variety of social activities and functions. Fay leaves behind her four children Jane (Peter), Jeff (Shawn), Bill (Andrea) and Jennifer (Peter), 10 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren scattered from coast to coast. And we mustn’t forget her kitties; she wouldn’t rest until she knew they were safely re-homed. Mom, Grammy, G.G., we will miss those morning “check-ins” . . . yes, really . . . and I think there is a place somewhere near Astaire and Rogers for you. Our deepest and heartfelt thanks to the wonderful people at Campbell House for easing those final days. A private family service will be held and arrangements are entrusted to Carruthers & Davidson Funeral Home – Wasaga Beach Chapel. Friends and neighbours are invited to join the family at Fay’s residence on Friday, November 8, 2019 from 2:30 to 4 pm to celebrate Mom. Please, no flowers.
