Elsie Mae Keating
1931-2019
It is with great sadness we announce the passing of our beloved mother, grandmother, great grandmother, aunt and a friend to many.
Elsie passed away at her residence, the Miramichi Senior Citizens’ Home, on Sunday, November 24th, 2019 at the age of 88.
Born in Whitney, NB, Elsie was the daughter of the late Omar and Fern Dunnett.
Elsie is survived by one daughter: Carola Allison (Cameron) of Whitney, NB; three sons: Terry (Debbie) of Douglastown, NB, Jackie (Rhoda) of Fort McMurray, AB and Kevin (Debbie) of Newcastle; ten grandchildren: Luticha, Tammy, Kyle, Joshua, Keitha, Kristopher, Cora, Craig, Kirk and Kelli; eleven great grandchildren: Ally, Clare, Luke, Griffen, Nolan, Jonathan, Ben, Owen, June, Sophie and Khloe as well as several nieces and nephews. Elsie was the last surviving member of her family.
Elsie is predeceased by her son: Keith; two brothers: Glen and Mel; two sisters: Connie and Ivy and her former husband: Jack Keating.
Visitation will be held at Bell’s Funeral Home, 651 King George Highway, Miramichi on Tuesday, November 26th from 2-4 and 7-9 PM. Funeral service will be held from the Sterling Bell Memorial Chapel, 651 King George Highway on Wednesday, November 27th at 2 PM with Pastor Vince Somers officiating. Burial will be held in the Whitney Baptist Cemetery later in the spring.
As expressions of sympathy, in Elsie’s memory, donations may be made to the New Brunswick Diabetic Association or a memorial of one’s choice.
The family would like to express their appreciation to the staff of the Miramichi Senior Citizens’ Home for all their wonderful loving care of their mother over the past years.
