DIEDERICHS, Cheryl (née Bézaire)
1949 – 2019
Surrounded by her family, Cheryl Diederichs passed away peacefully on November 25 at the age of 70, after a sudden and brief illness. She will be lovingly remembered by Don, her husband of 47 years; her children: Darcie (Mark) Lich, Kelly (Matthew) Skuba, and Kim Diederichs; and seven grandchildren: Scott, Shannon, Monica, Jacob, Zachary, Rylee, and Robyn. She is also survived by her sisters: Michelle (Les) Sadler and Tammy Bézaire (Lyle Friesen); Don’s siblings: Marilyn (Bob) Brunen, Carol (Mel) Smith, Merle (Ramona) Diederichs, Sherry (Blair) Maher, and Darren (Donalee) Diederichs and their families; her ‘bonus children’ Connie (Paul) Davis, Tanya (Dan) Hudson, and Angela Neufeld; and many nieces and nephews. Cheryl was predeceased by her parents, Jerry and Phyllis; her brothers, Fr. Ted and Tony; and infant sister, Mary Theresa. Cheryl and Don raised their family in Saskatoon, but spent every possible moment at their cabin at Whiteswan Lake. After retiring, they moved to the lake and made it their home, and were deeply connected to the community. Cheryl’s beloved ‘lake people’ are an extension of our family and we are grateful for their love and friendship over the last forty years. We extend our thanks to Dr. Tom Gabruch, and especially to the outstanding 5th floor staff at St. Paul’s Hospital for their extraordinary care and compassion. The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, December 7, at St. Philip Neri Catholic Parish (1902 Munroe Ave. S., Saskatoon). Interment will follow at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations in Cheryl’s memory may be made to the St. Paul’s Hospital Foundation, ‘Close to Home’ Campaign.
