In Loving Memory of Carol Delibasic.
It is with heavy hearts and great sadness that the family announces her passing peacefully at the Maison McCulloch Hospice on Thursday, November 21st, 2019, surrounded by her loving family.
Beloved and devoted wife to her husband of 48 years, Mike. Loving and proud “mommy” to her four daughters, Christine (Mark Linton), Angelina (Jason), Andrea (Dave Rocca), and Michelle (Mike), and cherished and extraordinary grandmother to her twelve grandchildren, McKayla, Emma, Bayley, Michael, Tyler, Nathan, Giulian, Paolo, Collin, Luca, Ryan, and Allie, whom she adored, took great pride in, and made a deep connection with. Each and everyone of them could, and would, honestly declare themselves her favourite, and they were! She will be remembered as a grandmother who always made time to listen, and was always there when they needed her the most. Her greatest joy came from spending time with her family; the center of her life. Loving daughter of Ivan and Vjekoslava both predeceased. Dear sister to Lillian Novosel (Dan) and loving Aunt to Christopher, April, and Bradley. Best friend to Corinne and Pierina, who will keep Carol’s memory and kindred spirit alive. Special cousin to Marjan and Zoric (husband Jura) and the Coric family.
Carol spent many happy summer days at her cottage on Manitoulin Island, on the shores of Spring Bay. Carol’s love of animals, since a young age, carried on through her life, with her family being extended by her companion Rottweilers, Tyson and Jackson, whom she enjoyed taking walks in the bush with every day. Her appreciation for nature, animals, and the outdoors was instilled in her daughters and grandchildren. She was a strong, determined, and fiercely independent woman. Carol will be missed by all who knew her for her beautiful heart, generosity, wisdom, and no-nonsense attitude, and famous zucchini strudel.
Carol passed away after a brave battle with brain cancer. She fought hard and was surrounded by the love and support of her strong girls who adored her and provided her with invaluable care.
The family would like to express their appreciation for the kindness and compassionate care shown to Carol by all the healthcare professionals involved in her battle and journey.
Carol’s spirit will continue to pave the way for her family and guide her children and grandchildren in a safe, nurturing, and loving life. “Farewell, sweet mommy. You were simply magnificent.”
As expressions of sympathy, donations to the Brain Tumour Foundation of Canada or Petsave would be appreciated.
Memorial Service in the R. J. Barnard Chapel

Sunday, November 24th, 2019 at 12 noon.
Cremation with entombment in the Civic Memorial Cemetery Mausoleum.
(Friends may gather in the chapel after 11:30am Sunday).
