Obituary of Brenda King
KING: Brenda (formerly Boismier) (nee Appleyard-Bird) –
It is with great sadness that we announce the sudden passing of Brenda King, who passed on Tuesday, November 12, 2019 at the age of 53.
Born in St. Catharines, Brenda was the daughter of the late Robert and Gwen (Howse) Bird. Daughter-in-law to Aline King and the late Orville King (2012).
Beloved wife of 12 years to Marc King.
Cherished mother of Josh Boismier, Sarah Boismier (Mitchell Kerr), Laura King (Tyson Brown) and Noah King.
Dear sister to Bill McPhail (late Kim), Debbie Wright (late Wayne) and Nicole Shaw (Len). Step-sister to the late Terrence Bird (Maria), the late Diane Benn-Heil, Sylvia Lauzon (Maurice), Roberta Summerfield (Tom Peel), Alan Byrd (Nellie), Dwight Byrd (Jay Jamieson), Rosemary Ost and Debbie Hall.
Sister-in-law to Peter King (Linda).
Beloved aunt to many nieces and nephews. Also missed by many friends and extended family.
Brenda worked in the hospitality business for almost 40 years over which time she fed many bellies and filled many hearts. She was known to many as the ‘hostess with the mostess’. Brenda was an avid camper and loved to travel. She was a lover of music, a competitive board game player and was a seafood lover extraordinaire. She loved her furr-babies, especially her cat Chewy and the late Marshmallow. Brenda and Marc took many journeys, which resulted in the fulfillment of their mutual dream to own their own restaurant: Dockside on the Cove.
Family will receive friends at the Funeral Home, 459 St. Clair Street, Chatham on Saturday, November 16, 2019 from 2:00 – 4:00pm and 7:00 – 9:00pm. All are welcome to drop in at Brenda’s Celebration of Life at Son’s of Kent, 27 Adelaide St. South, Chatham on Sunday, November 17, 2019 from 4:00 – 8:00pm.
