Bonita Elizabeth Louisa Buchanan died peacefully at Ritz Lutheran Villa, Mitchell, on October 30, 2019.
Born and raised in New Zealand. She leaves behind her dear and good friend Edith Brintnell of Exeter, Ontario.
Bonita’s life was spent in the care others. She served in the Canadian Armed Forces as a military nurse before retiring in 1980 when she continued her service to those in need as a registered nurse at Stratford General Hospital for 12 years.
Out of respect for her wishes cremation has taken place and there shall be no formal public visitation or service. Bonita had a keen interest in the humane treatment of people and animals alike. Therefore, should you like to make a donation in her memory, she kindly asked before her death that donations be made to the SPCA (Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals). Donations may be made through the Rutherford Cremation & Funeral Services website, directly at www.ontariospca.ca or by calling the funeral home at 519-271-5062.
