Cuthbert « Bert » Joseph Kilbride
It is with heavy hearts that the family of Bert Kilbride
announces his passing on Friday, November 29, 2019, at the Doctor
Everett Chalmer’s Hospital Fredericton NB. Born on February
19, 1934, in Foxley River PEI, he was the son of the late Laughlin and
Regina (Murphy) Kilbride. In addition to his parents, Bert
was predeceased by his 4 brothers and 5 sisters, being the last
remaining member of his family.
Bert will be greatly missed by his wife of 63 years, Carmel
(Hachey) Kilbride; his children Kevin Kilbride (Penny), Steve Kilbride
(Janet) and Lori Scolaro (Vince); his grandchildren Adam and Scott
Kilbride and Caitlyn Scolaro, as well as, many nieces, nephews,
friends and family.
Bert was a proud member of the Legion of Mary. He was one of
the first lay ministers in New Brunswick and was a strong supporter of
his church, Our Lady of Fatima Catholic Parish. He was an
entrepreneur and a consummate salesman. A member
of AA for 53 years, he offered his support and guidance to many over
the years. His caring spilled over into all aspects of his life and
this was apparent to all who knew
him.
A visitation will take place on Tuesday, December 3, 2019,
from 4:00 – 7:00 pm at the Oromocto Funeral Home, 108
Winnebago St., Oromocto New Brunswick. A funeral mass will be
celebrated at Our Lady of Fatima Catholic Church, 7 Leverman St.,
Fredericton, NB, on Wednesday, December 4, 2019, at 11:00 am with the
Rev. Dr. Michael McGowan officiating. In lieu of flowers,
donations to Our Lady of Fatima Catholic Parish would be appreciated
by the family.
We would also like to thank all of the doctors and nurses in
the ER, ICU and Cardiac Units for the care and compassion they showed
to Bert and the family.
