Arthur George Goodwin
1934 – 2019
Arthur George Goodwin completed his life’s journey on November 23, 2019. He passed away peacefully in his sleep after a short illness, in his 86 year.
Arthur was born in Stratford, Ontario to Arthur James Goodwin and Mary Louise Hornsey.
He completed his undergraduate degree in history at the University of Western Ontario in 1956, and received a bachelor of laws degree from Osgoode Hall Law School in 1960.
Upon returning to Stratford in 1966, Arthur established his own law practice until his retirement in 1996. He courageously advocated for the rights of his clients.
He is remembered for his intellect, quiet dignity and determined spirit.
Arthur is predeceased by his dearest friend and companion Jacqueline Hall. Together, they travelled extensively, experiencing many of the world’s cultural and historic sites.
Arthur will be missed by James Hall and his children Jamie, Jennifer, Andrew and Monica, who were privileged to know him.
Arthur’s loved ones are very grateful for the outstanding comfort and care he received from the staff at Stratford General Hospital in his final days.
There will no formal visitation or funeral service. A private service has taken place.
