Adele Doreen Rygiel
1940 – 2019
It is with sorrow that we announce the sudden passing of Adele Rygiel (nee Robertson) on November 6, 2019, at the Health Sciences Centre.
Adele was born in St. Boniface on May 15, 1940.
Adele was predeceased by: husband Mitchell, parents Matthew and Ann, brothers Lyall and Bud, and sister Arline.
She is survived by children: Grant, Mitchell (Carmen), Sherry (Mischa), Cindy (Phil), Kent, and grandchildren Liam, Brontë, Paityn, Trey, Pavlina, Pavel, Ivanka, and sister-in-law Lil.
Adele was an avid bowler and shuffleboard player. She worked as a receptionist at Winnipeg Hydro, and later as a crossing guard for the Winnipeg School Division. She was a dedicated volunteer at Wellington Elementary School for over 30 years. Adele also volunteered many hours at Teen Touch Bingo. She was always willing to help and support family and friends. During her free time, Adele loved to read, play cards, and was a keen sports fan who enjoyed following the Bombers, Jets, and Goldeyes. Her love of sports inspired her to enter and win the “Name Our Team” contest for the Winnipeg Goldeyes in 1994.
Adele will be lovingly missed by family and friends.
An interment will take place on Saturday, November 16, at 10:30 a.m., at the Elmwood Cemetery located at 88 Hespeler Avenue.
Adele’s memorial service will take place on Saturday, November 16, at 1:00 p.m., at Charleswood Community Church, located at 760 Charleswood Road, with a reception to follow.
