Wanda Mary Deveau
1947-2019
The passing of Wanda Mary Deveau of Beaver Harbour NB occurred
unexpectedly at her residence on October 9, 2019. Born in Blacks
Harbour NB on November 5, 1947, she was a daughter of the late Joseph
and Josephine (Babineau) Breau. A loving mother, grandmother,
great-grandmother and sister, Wanda will be sadly missed by her two
sons: Earl Deveau of Dartmouth NS and Darren (Mary Anne) Deveau of
Lake Echo NS; grandchildren: Jerrod Deveau and Jessica (Brian) Gordon;
one great-granddaughter: Charlotte; one brother: Ronnie (Carolyn)
Breau of Blacks Harbour NB; sisters: Evelyn (Roger) Charest of
Fitchburg MA, Linda (Doug) Powell of Riverview NB and Eileen Bryan of
Pocologan NB; her best friend: Shirley Holmes of Back Bay NB; several
nieces, nephews and cousins. In addition to her parents, Wanda was
predeceased by her brothers: Leo and Raymond; and by one sister:
Elisabeth.
Prior to retirement, Wanda worked for Connor’s Bros. in Blacks
Harbour. She loved Tim Horton’s, attending Bingo and singing at the
country music jams in Blacks Harbour and St. Andrews. Even though
Wanda never had much, she was always a giving soul and helped everyone
she could. She was a friendly, people person who enjoyed socializing
and being in the company of others.
Arrangements in the care of the St. George Funeral Home (755-3533) 26
Portage Street, St. George NB. Resting at the funeral home on Sunday
from 2-4 and 6-8 pm. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated from
the Stella Maris Catholic Church, Blacks Harbour NB on Monday at 11:00
am followed by the interment in the parish Cemetery. In Wanda’s
memory, donations to a charity the donor’s choice would be greatly
appreciated by the family.
