Violet Elizabeth Pirrie (nee Booth)
Passed away peacefully at Shorthills Villa Retirement Home on Monday, October 14, 2019 in her 97 year. Predeceased by her beloved husband Donald (1999). Loving mother of Marilyn Lanigan (Larry), Jim (Diane), Nancy Lynes (Aaron), Jane McLellan (Walt) and Peter (the late Teresa). Cherished grandmother of Lisa, April, Aaron, Rebekah, (Michael and Peter Joshua both deceased), Kimberly, Christopher, Melissa and Heather and great grandmother of 16.
Predeceased also by brothers Bob, Stan, Art and sisters Evelyn Tempest and Hilda Sleele. Violet leaves behind many nieces, nephews and friends, all of whom will miss her greatly.
Violet was a member of the Portal Village Bible Chapel and head cook for over 21 years at Camp Li Lo Li.
She was known for her quilting, sewing, cooking and above all her kind and generous hospitality.
Friends will be received by the family on Friday October 18th from 2-4 and 7-9 pm at the PEDLAR FUNERAL HOME, 1292 Pelham St., Fonthill. The funeral service to celebrate Violet’s life will take place on Saturday, October 19th, at Portal Village Bible Chapel, 309 Elgin St., Port Colborne beginning 10:30 am. with a reception to follow. Interment will take place after the reception at Hillside Cemetery, Ridgeville.
As an expression of sympathy, donations may be made to the Agape Valley Bible Camp.
