RUMBLES, Shirley Mary
On October 14, 2019 Shirley (Quance) Rumbles passed away in her 91st year, peacefully at
peopleCare in Tavistock, Ontario. Shirley will be lovingly remembered by her children Ian
(Teresa), Heather (Brian) and Sue (Donald) , her grandchildren Victoria (Matt), Richard, Andrew, Emily (Adam), Ethan (Rachael) and great-grandson, Theodore. Also survived by her sister-inlaw, Edith Rumbles.Shirley was predeceased by her husband of 62 years, Alistair, her parents Fred and Alice Quance and brothers Robert and John. Shirley graduated as a registered nurse from St Joseph’s Hospital Hamilton in the February Class of 1952. She was a lifetime member of the St Joseph’s Hospital Hamilton Alumni Association and organized annual reunions of her class. She was also an active member of Sinclairville United Church for over 40 years. She enjoyed her time as a member of ‘Off the Hook’ in Haldimand. Shirley was engaged in researching her genealogy and was a member of the Glanbrook Historical Society. The family appreciate the care and kindness shown to Shirley by the staff at peopleCare in Tavistock where she struggled with dementia. A funeral service will be held at Sinclairville United Church on Saturday, November 2 at 11 am. Donations to Sinclairville United Church or the Alzheimer’s Society of Canada would be appreciated in lieu of flowers.
