1946 – 2019
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the sudden passing of Roderick Ernest Burke (Rod) on Oct 7, 2019. Rod was born Jan 26, 1946 in Vancouver and the oldest of 10 children. Rod obtained his Mechanic License and ran Rod’s Repair and Towing for many years. He was a well-known, long time Enderby resident that loved to play hockey and baseball and enjoyed riding his motorcycle, fishing and camping. He was a big community sponsor in Enderby.
Rod leaves a legacy that will never be forgotten by his family and friends. His footprint will remain in Enderby, the community he loved.
He is predeceased by his parents Ernest and Minerva and brother Michael. He is survived by his wife of 53 years Wendy, children Michele (Victor) Sheila (Wade) Ted and Karen (Russell). Grandchildren Kristin (Jon), Elisha (Tyler), Kaylee, Camille (Randy), Candace, Justine, William, Hannah, Antonio and Ethan. Great grandchildren Evan, Natalie, Elena and Adaline, 6 brothers and 3 sisters, brothers and sisters in laws and many nieces and nephews and friends.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Tuesday Oct. 15, 2019 at 2pm at the Splatsin Centre in Enderby. In lieu of flowers donations to the Alzheimer’s Society would be appreciated.
