MONTGOMERY; Robert O. “GUMBY” (Long time Corrections Officer – Recently retired from the Brookside Youth Centre) ~ Passed away peacefully at home on Tuesday, October 29, 2019 after a brief and courageous battle with cancer at the age of 60. Predeceased by his parents Murray and Elizabeth Montgomery. Robert Montgomery was the beloved husband for 23 years of Margaret Corrigan. Loving step father of Charles Daoust (Sabrina) and Véronique Daoust (Ahmad). Proud grandfather of Jeremy. Dear brother of Jessica Montgomery (the late Douglas), Jane Montgomery (Jay), Kathy Blastorah (Chris) and Ian Montgomery (Melanie). Brother in law of Douglas Corrigan (Jo-Anne), Michael Corrigan, Peter Corrigan (the late Carole), Hélène D’Aoust (André), David Corrigan (Natasha) and John Corrigan (Isabelle). Robert will be fondly remembered by 19 nieces and nephews, his cousins, many other relatives and extended family. Rob is the special Godfather to Billy Corrigan. He will be sadly missed by many, many long time supportive friends who shared his love of sports, the outdoors and his numerous annual trips. Cannot forget his BFF (best furry friend), Buster.
