Obituary of Natalia Emma Zimmer
Born August 7, 1934 in Kelowna, B.C., Natalie passed away peacefully, surrounded by her family on October 26, 2019 at the Port Colborne General Hospital, in her 86th year.
Pre-deceased by her loving parents, Elizabeth Molnar (Pobis) (2000) and Alexander Molnar (1981).
Loving mother of Tom Zimmer (Jenny-Lynn), David Zimmer (Nancy), and Susanne Basque (Marcel). Caring Nana of Alex, Katie, Kierryn, Jason, Jesse, Adam (Tasha), Emma; Delcia (Mike), Marcel Jr. (Shannon), Isabella, as well as Great Nana to Lillian and Ayden.
Natalie loved her family above all else. She enjoyed taking care of her home and tending to her gardens. She was very creative and talented in music, dance and the arts. She played the organ for many years at the Hungarian Church in Port Colborne, and would often play her piano for hours, improvising her own tunes and singing along as she played. Even in her very last days she could be found singing and drawing pictures for the nurses at the Port Colborne Hospital. She was a talented artist and loved to draw her own cartoons that she called “The Sillies.” Natalie was an avid reader and looked forward to doing her daily crosswords and puzzles. She enjoyed bowling, lawn-bowling and curling.
Natalie worked as a P.S.W for the Red Cross and volunteered as a driver for the Canadian Cancer Society for many years before retiring in her early 70’s. She will be missed by several lifelong friends, many extended family members and her dear kitty Cinnamon.
We miss you Mom; your laughter and sense of humour, your feisty and sharp wit, your stories, your loving kindness and generous heart, your profound and intuitive counsel and hearing your many sayings…

Special thanks to the many caring professionals Dr. St. Hillaire, Dr. Phillips, and Dr. Scher, the P.S.W’s Kelly, Jamie, and Jimmy, and the caring staff on 2 West in Port Colborne Palliative Care.
In keeping with her wishes, cremation has taken place.
The Zimmer family will receive friends at the ARMSTRONG FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL, 179 Clarence Street, Port Colborne on Sunday, November 3, 2019 from 1 -3 p.m.
The Funeral Service will follow on Sunday at 3:00 p.m. in the Armstrong Chapel with Pastor Carson Culp officiating.
There will be a private family interment of ashes at a later date.
If so desired, memorial donations may be made to the Welland & District Humane Society.
