Obituary of Melvin Elden Fitchett
Passed away peacefully at the Georgian Bay General Hospital, Midland on Sunday October 20th, 2019 at the age of 82, formerly of MacTier. Melvin had a long career working at the Township of Georgian Bay. Melvin also enjoyed travelling, fishing and hunting with his beloved wife Marie.
Beloved husband of Marie Bertha (Cremasco). Predeceased by his parents Olive (Beers) and Walter Fitchett. Survived by Snoopy (mans best friend). Brother of Lorraine Schell, and Margaret Downing. Predeceased by his sisters and brothers, Bernice Schell, Percy Fitchett, Willard Fitchett, Earl Fitchett, and Twins Rose & Lily. Survived by his step-children, John Angliss (Carol), Robert Angliss (Marie), Doreen Levair (Hank), late Charles Levair (Lynn), Dale Fitchett (Keith), Randy Angliss (Vera), Donna Reynolds (Late Garry). Loving grandfather, great grandfather and great great grandfather. Melvin will be missed by his many nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.
The family will honour his life with a visitation at the New Life Fellowship 455 High Street, MacTier on Wednesday October 23rd from 7-9pm, where the service shall take place on Thursday October 24th at 11am. Interment MacTier Union Cemetery. A reception will be held at the MacTier Legion at 12:30pm. As an expression of sympathy, donations in memory of Melvin may be made to Diabetes Canada or to the Heart and Stroke Foundation and may be made through the funeral home.
