Mary Josephine Griffin
April 23, 1924 – October 11, 2019
Surrounded by her loving family, Mary Griffin passed peacefully away at the Health Sciences Centre on Friday, October 11, 2019 at the age of 95 years. Mary, affectionately known as “Aunt Mary” was predeceased by her husband, Maurice “Moss” Griffin; sister and best friend, Jean Viscount and brother-in-law, Bernard Viscount. Mary leaves behind with fond and loving memories, her nieces and nephews, Maxine (Mike) Davis, Gary (Marilyn) Viscount, Bonnie (Gerry) Evans, Greg (Karen) Viscount and Brenda Hansford (Doug Vaughan); her grand-nieces and nephews, Michelle Davis, Chris Davis, Jackie Cobb, Stephen Viscount, Angie Broydell, Stephen Evans, Dawn Evans, Keith Evans, Adam Viscount, Rob Viscount, Sarah Hansford and Michael Hansford as well as several great-grand-nieces and nephews, and other family and friends. Special thanks to the staff of 1 South and pastoral care team at St. Patrick’s Mercy Home for their kindness and compassion during her stay there. Resting at Caul’s Funeral Home, LeMarchant Road. Visitation on Sunday from 12-9 pm. Funeral Mass will take place at 11:30 am on Monday, October 14, 2019 from Corpus Christi Church with interment to follow at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations in her memory may be made to the St. Patrick’s Mercy Home Foundation or the SPCA.
