Obituary of Margaret Joan Goodwin
GOODWIN, Margaret Joan – age 87 of East Stewiacke, passed away at home on October 25, 2019. Born in East Stewiacke, she was a daughter of the late Edward and Blanche (Nelson) Goodwin.
Margaret was a school teacher at Michael Wallace School in Dartmouth, retiring in the early nineties. She was a CGIT Leader and very involved in the United Church, attending the Maritime Conference in Sackville for many years. Margaret supported Symphony Nova Scotia and enjoyed many of their performances.
She is survived by brother, Ron Goodwin, Alamogordo, New Mexico; sister, Joyce Goodwin, Halifax. She is also survived by nieces, Lisa Keshen, Red Deer, Alberta; Laurena Cox, Edmonton, AB; and Faye Coady, Fall River; great nieces, Jessica, Kayla and Devan; great nephews, Steve and Mitchell.
She was predeceased by sister, Arlene and brothers, Allan and Garry.
Visitation will be held at 1pm Tuesday, October 29th until 1:45pm in Ettinger Funeral Home, Shubenacadie. Funeral service will begin at 2pm. Reception will be held immediately after in the funeral home hospitality area. Interment will follow in Pine Grove Cemetery, East Stewiacke.
The family would like to express their sincere thanks for the care that was given by her caregivers over the past years, especially Maura Demoraea, Susan Tanner and Debbie Nielsen.
