Lois’ Obituary
Lois Madeline Callahan (84) of Corner Brook, NL, finally hung up her sneakers on October 26th, 2019. Lois was a familiar smiling face to many. Rain or shine, she loved to take long daily walks throughout Corner Brook. A kind, soft soul, she would often stop and talk to strangers along her route. Our hearts are heavy with loss but we celebrate the importance of a beautiful life, full of devoted family and friends. Lois is predeceased by parents Joseph and Emma White and her husband of 52yrs Arthur Callahan. Lois leaves behind her nine children: Barbara Robbins (Keith), Arthur, John (Sharon), Allan (Patricia), Lois Higgins (Bob), Dianne, Michael (Judy), Jerry (Barb), Chris (Melanie); 13 grandchildren: Joey, Kara, Matthew, Janice, Trevor, Nicholas, Amy, Robyn, Caileigh, Ben, Maggie, Jill, Charlie and two great grandchildren: Evan and Brooke. She also leaves extended family and her wonderful neighbours and her TOPS group of 40 years. The family would like to extend our tremendous gratitude to the staff of bungalow number four, DR. Lethbridge as well as the nursing staff of palliative at Western Memorial Regional Hospital. At Lois request cremation has taken place. Family and friends may visit Country Haven Funeral Home, 167 Country Road on Monday October 28th, 2019 from the hours of 7-9 PM. There will be no formal funeral service at this time. Interment to take place at a later date. As expressions of sympathy, in lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to the Alzheimer’s Society of NL.
