With broken hearts, we are devastated to announce the passing of our sweet, loving Dad. He left us late on Monday October 14th, after a six month battle with cancer. He was greeted in Heaven by his mother Molly, father Eddie, brother Peter, mother and father-in-law Joyce and Bob Chettle, and brother-in-law Bruce Chettle. John was the most beloved husband to Cindy (Chettle) for over 39 years. Adored father of Courtney and Rob Fuciarelli, and Meaghan and Chris Brodeur. Cherished by his five young grandchildren who will miss their Papa terribly; Ciara, Jackson, Owen, Adalynn and Scarlett. Also greatly missed and loved by his brothers and sisters; Eilish and Paddy, Mary and Bill, Patrick and Patty, Edward and Mary, Catherine and Joey, Bernadette, Theresa and Vincent and Kevin and Lili. Loved brother in law of Debbie Mountenay and Brenda Biemann. John was the favourite uncle of his many nieces and nephews. He will also be missed by his large extended family in Canada and Ireland, by Rob and Chris’ families, his neighbours, coworkers and friends. John was a dedicated employee of Metrican Stamping for the last 16 years. Everyone who knew him will remember his sweet, quiet and caring nature and much admired, quick sense of humour. He brought joy and laughter to all of us, and has forever left a gaping hole in our lives. Gone much too soon and with more memories to make, we will miss him so much. All our gratitude is shared for the wonderful care he received by Dr. Beithoon, Dr. Dhesy, Dr. Dadwal, and the team at 3C Juravinski Hospital, especially his nurses Jeff, Jen, Lorraine, and Hayley. Visitation will take place at Bay Gardens Funeral Home 947 Rymal Road East, Hamilton, on Friday October 18th from 2 pm – 4 pm and 7 pm- 9 pm. Funeral mass will be celebrated at Our Lady of the Assumption Church 63 Hwy 20 East, Stoney Creek, on Saturday October 19th, 2019 at 12 noon. Internment at White Chapel Cemetery will take place at a later date. If so desired, please make a donation in John’s memory to the Juravinski Hospital.
