Veroni, Joseph (Joe)-
On Friday, October 18, 2019, Joseph Michael Veroni passed away peacefully with his wife and son by his side after a two-plus year battle with cancer. Joe will be greatly missed by his loving wife of 43 years, Sheryl (nee Farmer), his only son, Joe (Erin), brother Michael (Brenda), sister-in-law Sandra Smart (David Dyke), and all his nieces and nephews. He will be forever remembered as a loyal friend and great neighbour. We will all miss Joe’s unique spirit, sense of generosity, commitment to family, and passion for living life to its fullest.
Joe was born on August 20, 1953, in Guelph, ON to Donald and Vera Veroni. He was the cherished grandson of Joe (Gramps) and Mabel Veroni.
Visitation will be held at Gilbert MacIntyre and Son Funeral Home, Hart Chapel, 1099 Gordon St, Guelph, on Wednesday, October 23, 2019 from 2-4, and 7-9pm. A Funeral Mass for Joe will be held at Sacred Heart Church, 98 Alice St, Guelph, on Thursday, October 24, 2019 at 11:00 a.m.
Sheryl, Joe, and Erin are incredibly grateful to the entire team of staff and volunteers at Dorothy Ley Hospice for their amazing support and care during Joe’s final days. In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Joe may be made to Dorothy Ley, 220 Sherway Dr, Etobicoke, ON M9C 5N6.
