HOOPER, Gertrude (née Scarr)
After having celebrated her 100th birthday this past summer, we are sad but blessed to announce the peaceful passing of Gertude Hooper on October 19, 2019. She will be lovingly remembered by her daughters Catherine (Ronald) Doyon of Thunder Bay and Marilyn (Richard) Schonfeldt of Kenogami. Cherished grandmother to John (Dawn) Doyon, James Doyon, Michael Schonfeldt and Danny (Dominique) Schondfeldt. Great-grandmother to Caelan and Casimir.
Gertrude was the last surviving child of 14 children born to Manville and Christina Scarr. She will be fondly remembered working at Kresge, Eaton’s and Green’s. In addition to a strong love for her family, Gertrude was also very passionate about knitting and crocheting items for the Anglican Church as well as the Encore Club.
In keeping with Gertrude’s wishes, cremation has taken place and a private family burial will take place next summer.
