The Family announces with deep sadness his death at Health Sciences North, Wednesday October 23, 2019 at the age of 90 years. He slipped away quietly with his family at his side. Beloved husband of Geraldine Minerva Wilson (nee Laing) predeceased 1989, predeceased by daughter Linda Lewis (Donald) in 2014, Survived by daughter Louise of Lively, Ontario. Loving grandfather to Gerald Lewis (Michele) of Whitefish, Ontario and Carlamae Ashby (Jeff) of Saskatoon, Saskatchewan. Great-grandfather to Justin Lewis (Chris) of Edmonton, Alberta. Kyla Lachance (Zach) of Sudbury, Ontario. Hannah and Joshua Ashby both of Saskatoon, Saskatchewan. Great-great-grandfather to Damion Lachance of Sudbury, Ontario. Son of Harry Wilson of Leicester, England and Helen (nee Seatter) of Westray, Scotland both predeceased. Survived by sister Dorothy Tracy of Medicine Hat, Alberta. Predeceased by brothers George, Alfred, William, Robert, John and sisters Helen, Alice, Eva, Mary. Special mention of sister-in-law Lorna Russell who spent many summers in our home, becoming like a third daughter, and later continued sharing her life by marrying Dad’s cousin Robert and bringing daughters Laura and Tammy into our lives. Dad retired from INCO after 40 years underground at Creighton. His passion was always to spend time with his family, camping, travelling and golfing. Found by friends and loved ones to be a gentle soul, a great mentor to all who came into his life, always willing to lend a hand, and give the male neighbours a bad name by pitching in with housework. Louise would like to express her gratitude to Dr Monica Susil and her colleagues at City of Lakes Family Health for their heartfelt care, the HSN Doctors, Nurses and Auxiliary staff in the emergency room and inpatient units where he spent time over the past two years, for their wonderful care and treatment given to her Dad. Special mention also of the loving care given by long time friend, Jacquie Tollerton and the staff at Bayshore. In lieu of flowers donations to the Maison McCulloch Hospice or a charity of your choice would be appreciated. Private family services entrusted to the Lougheed Funeral Home.
