Francina Donkers (nee Swinkels)
November 22, 1925 – September 29, 2019
Francina passed away, surrounded by family on September 29, 2019 in Calgary, Alberta. Francina was born in Bakel, Netherlands and immigrated to Canada with her husband (Martin) and two young children in June, 1952. They faced many challenges but through fortitude and hard work they provided a strong foundation for their growing family. Francina is survived by eleven children, John (Betty), Bert (Wilma), Johanna (Curtis), Justin (Nicole), Tina (Dave), Henry (Kim), Frances (Greg), Mary (Stephen), Florence (Steven), Adriane (Chris), Marty (Karen), twenty-five grandchildren in Canada and USA, eleven great grand-children in Canada and numerous nieces and nephews and their families in the Netherlands. Francina was predeceased by her husband, Martin, in 1996, sisters Drieka and Marie and brothers Harry, Jan and Jacobus.
The family wishes to thank the staff at Providence Care Centre and Rockyview General Hospital in Calgary for their exceptional care and compassion.
A Funeral Mass will be held at Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church, 8 College St, Ingleside, Ontario on Saturday, November 2, 2019 at 11 am, and will be followed by interment at St. Lawrence Valley Union Cemetery. A reception will follow the interment at the South Stormont Community Hall, Long Sault.
