Dorothy Ingham Archibald (Thomasson) was born in Bristol, England on August 27, 1928 and passed away on October 19, 2019. She was predeceased by her husband James P. and is survived by her four children, John Archibald, Shortts Lake, Robert Archibald, Whistler, B.C., Janet Archibald (Keith Griffiths), New Westminister, B.C. and Dorothy Troughton, Delta B.C.; two grandchildren, 3 great grandchildren; sister, Jean Gopaul, Ontario and numerous nieces and nephews. Tommy began her career as a radiographer in England and certified in Radiation Therapy. She held the academic designation of “Fellow of the Society of Radiographers” of Great Britain. After moving to Nova Scotia in 1955 she was Chief Technician, clinical instructor, curator of sealed sources and finished her career as Radiation Health Officer for the Nova Scotia Department of Health. She received numerous awards over her career and was an active member of CAMRT, Zonta and Red Cross. After retirement Jim and Tommy moved to Milford to enjoy winters in Florida and summers in Cape Breton. Her love of travel started as a teenager hiking and biking through England and Europe. She rode a BSA Motorbike to the South of France and continued with numerous flights and cruises around the world. Tommy took up golf in her retirement and was always up for new adventures. In 2017 at the age of 88 she checked off a bucket list item by flying an airplane! She will be greatly missed by her family and friends. A Celebration of Life will be held in the Summer of 2020.
