Doris E Gorman

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our
dear mother Doris Emma (Lipsett) Gorman on September 30, 2019 at the
age of 93. Doris was a resident of Paradise Villa in Fredericton for
the past 4 years and the family would like to acknowledge the kind and
caring staff and appreciate the level of care she received over that
time.
Doris was born on January 11, 1926 in New Maryland N.B. the
youngest daughter of John and Margaret (Greer) Lipsett.
Doris was predeceased by her parents, three brothers Ivan,
Earl and Leonard Lipsett, two sisters Martha Hume and Helen Adel and
two half-sisters Margaret Booker and May Charters.
After graduating from Fredericton High School in 1942 Doris
worked for the New Brunswick Telephone Company as a Switchboard
Operator. During that time she met the love of her life
Murray Gorman and they were married on November 6, 1946.
Doris then worked for James S. Neill + Sons and then moved
away with Murray to various Air Force bases where she became a full
time Mom to Gary, Cathy and Janet. In 1971 upon
Murray’s retirement from the military Doris and Murray moved
to their new home in New Maryland where they lived for 41 years
surrounded by friends and family. In 2012 they moved
together to a Special Care Home and then in 2015 Doris relocated to
Paradise Villa following Murray’s passing.
Doris was always known for being a wonderful cook and
homemaker. Her specialties were her sugar donuts and a variety of
pickles, jams and jellies. She loved her six grandchildren and many
nieces and nephews. She had a love of flowers, curling, bowling,
quilting, and was a dedicated member of the New Maryland United
Church, the church choir, and the UCW.

great-grandchildren Krista Toews (Niel ) daughters Vail and Margot,
Carla Corner (Scott) son Myles, Spencer Gorman, Chris Schuh (Amanda),
Danny Schuh, and Travis Schuh (Leah) , brother-in-law Robert (Bob)
