On Wednesday October 9, 2019, Allan E. Ruffler, loving husband, father, grandfather and great- grandfather passed away at the age of 77.
Allan was born on September 1, 1942 to Kurt and Grace Rueffler in Stettler AB. Allan attended school in both Stettler and Erskin then continued onto Barber School in Edmonton AB. He was a barber for 45 years in Stettler. He met his wife Elsie(Kitty) in 1984, they then married September 19, 1987. They were married for 32 years. Allan lived in Stettler for 66+ years and spent the last 11 years in Nova Scotia.
Allan loved to walk and he enjoyed a good western, whether it was a movie or a book. He would love to play and visit with all his Grandchildren and Great-grandchildren. Allan had a coffee group with his friends. They would meet 11:30am everyday. Allan and Kitty rarely missed a day. Although Allan was quiet man, he had an infectious smile and a kind compassionate spirit.
Allan was preceded in death by his father, Kurt, and his mother, Grace. He is survived by his wife Elsie and sister Ruth (Gerald). Allan never had children of his own but adopted Elsies 6 children Darlene(Mark), Tim(Lorraine), Paul(Jo-Ann), Denise(Mike), Troy(Lisa), Nadine(Garry). He had 22 grandchildren and many great-grandchildren. Nephews Dennis and Wayne, great- nephews Kirk and Garnett and many cousins.
A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, October 15th, 2019 at Bethel Baptist Church. 1984 Temperance St, Westville, NS at 2 o’clock p.m. As an expression of sympathy, memorial contributions may be made to The Canadian Cancer Society.
