Ruth Chisholm (Uloth) MacInnis
1922-2019
MacInnis, Ruth Chisholm (Uloth), Halifax. Ruth passed away
peacefully at the age of 97 at Northwood Manor, Halifax on September
5. Daughter of Alex & Eva (Chisholm) Stalker, Ruth grew up on
the farm in Moose River. She graduated from Aberdeen School of Nursing
and spent many years working as a nurse, mostly in the emergency
department at the Aberdeen Hospital, New Glasgow. She became the first
plant nurse at Scott Maritimes and ended her nursing career at the
Colchester Regional Hospital, Truro.
Ruth is survived by her daughter Phyllis (Hugh) Matheson; son
David (Debbie) Uloth and stepson Kevin (Judy) MacInnis; stepdaughter,
Kathy(Ed) Jalbert and their extended families. She is also survived by
grandchildren Christopher (Meaghan) Matheson, Mark (Jennifer)
Matheson, Michael (Mallory) Matheson, Andrew Matheson, Andrew (Jen)
Uloth and Jillian Uloth, great granddaughters Amelia and Madeline
Matheson and Claire Uloth as well as several nieces and
nephews.
Ruth was predeceased by her husband Don MacInnis in 2008; two
sisters Harriet MacMillan and Marion
Marshall.
Arrangements are under the direction of the Mattatall~Varner
Funeral Home, 55 Young Street, Truro from where visitation will take
place on Wednesday, Sept. 11th commencing at 1 pm followed by a
Celebration of Ruth’s Life at 2 pm. with Reverend Andrew
Campbell officiating. A reception will follow in the funeral home. A
family burial will follow in Pinegrove Cemetery, Stewiacke East.
Family flowers only. Donations in Ruth’s memory may be made
to 2nd Centre Northwood Manor, Halifax, or to Feed Nova
Scotia.
A special thanks to all the caregivers at Northwood Centre
who were just like family to her.
In Ruth’s memory our family
would appreciate it if those who knew her would do a good
deed for someone. Ruth cared deeply about being kind and helping
others. She will be missed.
