Rita’s Obituary
Peacefully, at Macassa Lodge in Hamilton, on Friday, September 20th, 2019. Rita passed away in her 76th year. Beloved husband to Richard Tonello. Mother to Julia Gizarelli, Roger Tonello, Marie Tonello (Bill) and grandmother of Lorenzo and Nathan. Predeceased by her parents Santo and Maria Antonia Carbone. Sister to Nato (Savina), Grazia (Alfredo), Angelo (Elsie), Tota (Cosimo), Anna (Nino), Ida (Tom). Sister-in-law to Diane (Lino) Moro and will also be fondly remembered by many nieces and nephews. A special thank you to the wonderful staff at Macassa Lodge for their care and compassion.
Rita will be remembered for her work with Our Lady of Lourdes Parish and Baptismal team, as well as with the Venetian Club of Hamilton and their bocce league.
Visitation will be at Friscolanti Funeral Chapel, 43 Barton Street East, on Wednesday, September 25th from 2-4 pm and 7-9 pm. A chapel service will be held in the funeral home chapel on Thursday, September 26th, 2019, at 10:30 am. Interment to follow at Holy Sepulchre Catholic Cemetery.
