Mary Laird
1919-2019
It is with great sadness that the family of Mary Laird, age
99, of Hampton, NB, announces her passing which occurred on September
27, 2019 at the Saint John Regional Hospital. Born in Coalburn,
Scotland, on October 9, 1919, she was the daughter of the late
Frederick and Mary (Brown) Forsyth.
Mary was a lifetime member of the Hampton United Church and
was involved in the UCW and the Ladies Auxiliary. Over the years, Mary
dedicated herself to many local organizations such as the
Senior’s Resource Centre and the Hampton
Legion.
Mary is survived by her niece Annie Connell & family;
nephew Fred Forsyth & family; beloved sister-in-law Ariel
Laird; and well as many other sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews and
extended family. Besides her parents, Mary was predeceased by her
loving husband, George Laird who passed away in 2013; and brother
William Forsyth.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Reid’s Funeral
Home (506-832-5541), 1063 Main Street, Hampton, NB. A private family
graveside service will take place at Hampton Rural
Cemetery.
