Joan passed suddenly after a brief illness at the Royal Victoria Regional Health Centre, Barrie, on Tuesday, September 10, 2019, at the age of 85. Joan and her beloved husband Alan “Al” just celebrated their 63rd wedding anniversary. Loving mother of Wendy Fraser (Mike McWilliam) of Wasaga Beach and Janice Arnold (Murray) of Owen Sound. Dear grandmother of Jamie Stokes (Oana) of Creemore and Kailey Arnold (Corey Coutch) of Owen Sound. Great-grandmother of Alina and Ryann. A celebration of Joan’s life will take place at Centennial United Church, 234 William Street, Stayner, on Saturday, September 21, 2019, at 12 noon with visitation from 11 a.m. A reception will follow in the church hall. A private family interment will take place at a later date.Arrangements entrusted to Carruthers & Davidson Funeral Home – Stayner Chapel. Joan’s family wish to thank the caring doctors and nurses in the trauma room (ER) and palliative care ward of Royal Victoria Regional Health Centre. In lieu of flowers, donations to Hospice Georgian Triangle Foundation for Campbell House Collingwood would be appreciated by Joan’s family.
