Obituary of Gilda Scalzo
Passed away peacefully at Extendicare Van Daele on Friday, September 6, 2018 at the age of 88. Beloved wife of the late Interzino Scalzo and late Salvatore Orrico. Loved mother of Carmine Orrico and Francesca Orrico of Italy, Daniela May (Randy), late Rosa Orrico and late Pietro Orrico.
Special Nonna of Antonio, Christopher, Loredana, Jordan and Dennis.
Predeceased by her parents Giovanni Capisciolto and Rosina Calvelli.
Dear sister of Amelia Messina. Predeceased by her siblings Francesco, Anna, Esther, Salvatore and Alfredo.
Special cousin of Virgina Muto, late Violetta Costanzo, late Anna Nardi, late Elvira Curcio and the late Frank Calvelli.
Gilda will be missed be her many nieces, nephews and extended family.
Friends and family are invited to visit at Northwood Funeral Home Cremation and Reception Centre (942 Great Northern Rd, 705-945-7758) on Monday, September 9, 2019 from 11:00 a.m. until 12:30 p.m. Funeral Mass to follow at St. Gregory’s Church at 1:00 p.m. with Father Trevor Scarfone officiating. Entombment at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery Mausoleum. Memorial donations to the Kidney Foundation would be appreciated by the family. Thank you to the Doctors and nurses at the Sault Area Hospital. Special thank you to all the staff at Extendicare Van Daele for the care and compassion shown to Gilda and our family over the years.
